Gary Ruschman

Voice, Mount Olive Site

Tenor Gary Ruschman appears throughout the U.S. and abroad as a concert soloist, opera singer, choral artist, and clinician. He has toured the globe as a long-time member of Cantus, serving multiple terms on the ensemble's elected artistic leadership and Board of Directors.

With more than thirty principal roles to his credit, Mr. Ruschman apprenticed at Portland Opera, and has performed as a soloist with The Boston Pops, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Berkeley Opera, American Bach Soloists, and San Francisco Opera Center, to name a few. Other appearances include the Kennedy Center, Oman's Royal Opera House, NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts, San Francisco Performances, and New York City's Birdland.

Mr. Ruschman has maintained private vocal studios in both the Cincinnati and San Francisco Bay Areas, and has provided musical direction for numerous projects and concert programs. For more than a decade, he has worked extensively in educational outreach for vocal ensembles and young performers. His critically-acclaimed vocal arrangements have been performed and recorded throughout North America.

Training in free expression, healthy technique, stage deportment, and the exploration of different musical styles are highlights of studying with Gary. He holds music degrees with honors from Northern Kentucky University (B.M.) and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (M.M.)
